you can't see.

The problem

A lot of "UVC" lights aren't UVC.

Online marketplaces are full of UV lights sold as germicidal that give off no UVC at all. QuantaDose was created as a consumer's front-line defense: put the card under the light, and real UVC makes the letters UV-C glow green. If nothing glows, you have your answer.

Wow - I had 3 different UVC lights for sanitizing and only 1 is worth the money - the other two have no UVC!...

How it works

Three steps. Fifteen seconds.

01

Expose for 15 s

Hold the card under the light for about 15 seconds. Distance matters: double the distance and only about a quarter of the UVC remains. Wear proper safety equipment to protect your eyes and skin. Can't see inside a sanitizer box? Put your phone in next to the card recording video, then check the recording for the green UV-C.

02

Look for green UV-C

A special ink glows green only under germicidal UVC, not visible light, UVA or UVB. Read it while the light is on, because the glow stops instantly.

03

Read the strength

Check the photochromic area right away. If ULTRAVIOLET is legible (1st/2nd) or the UV letters stay in the 6-in-1 center circle, UVC is above about 300 µW/cm².

Care & lifespan

Treat it like a test strip that lasts.

  • 15 seconds max per exposure.
  • Store it in its black UV-resistant sleeve (or anywhere dark and dry) between tests.
  • Good for about 500 tests when you keep exposures short.
  • Keep it out of the sun: leaving it in direct sunlight can burn the card out in about an hour.

Sleeve storage and ">500 tests" come from the 6-in-1 Amazon listing. The sunlight guidance comes from Quanta X Technology.

FDA notice. The photochromic material should never be used to decide when to apply sunscreen or to prevent sunburn. QuantaDose is a visual reference, not a medical device or a substitute for microbiological testing.
Smart analytes

Three colors, one card.

On the 6-in-1, the same test area glows reddish-pink for UVA/UVB and green for UVC, while a separate photochromic strip turns purple to show intensity.
